Hurdle H. Lea III

Founder and Member of the Board

Hurdle H. “Trip” Lea is a founder and Vice President of Futerra. Mr. Lea co-founded NuCapital and develops and operates large wind projects in Curacao, Aruba, Colombia, Brazil, and Honduras. Before entering the renewable energy industry, Mr. Lea has spent over twenty years working in the capital markets in Latin America. He began his career as a floor trader on the New York Cotton Exchange in the late 1970's. In the mid-1980s, Trip joined W. Thorpe McKenzie, co-founder of Tiger Management, as a trading assistant. From its founding in 1990 through 1996, he served as the Chief Financial Officer of Pointer, LP, which grew into a $2.3 billion investment fund. Trip has served for 11 years on the boards of a number of Latin American private equity stakes. Mr. Lea graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Management and a minor in Meteorology from the University of North Carolina at Asheville.
